LAKE OKEECHOBEE FLORIDA BOWFISHING GUIDE
Lake Okeechobee Bowfishing is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing outdoor archery activities. Bowfishing Lake Okeechobee is also a proven method of reducing the population of invasive species in our waters.
Bowfishing trips are done on Lake Okeechobee off a customized pontoon boat with a raised shooting deck surrounded by high pressure sodium lights. There is also a spotters tower to get a better view. You can expect to shoot mainly tilipia and gar with opportunities at other species of fish.
—Bowfishing trips are available year round, however the best months are February through August, on full moons.
— Rates are $400 for 4 hours of fishing and up to 3 people. A fourth person and additional hours can be added for $50 each.
— A Florida fresh water fishing license is required. For Florida residents these licenses run $17 for a year and for non-residents $17 for 3 days. You can obtain them online or by phone.
-- Airboat charter can be used also for an extra charge gas sur-charge of $100.00. You can bowfish the shallow marshes and also have an exciting airboat ride to and from your fishing locations.
-Bowfishing bows, arrows, and all supplies needed to shoot fish
-Ice and cooler for fish on boat. Hunters will need to bring their own cooler if they wish to take their fish home. (Tilapia are good eating!)
